Death & life

Death & life The same for both are feared. We live as if death is a final rest, The fear of the end holds us back from living now, Looking far into the future, But we must know death to know life, For they are the same thing. To accept dying is to allow birth, A woman dies to become a newborn Mother, Each breath shows us beginning and ending, Every moment we are new and old simultaneously, Infinitely moving within the finite, What is it we fear of both living and dying as a togetherness? Death is a peaceful surrender to change from the familiar, A gentle flow into newness of unfamiliarity that is birthed, If we honour death...

Who are you, where are you currently as you type this & how are you feeling? My name is Montana! Who I am is a complex question, as it is for anyone I think haha! What I believe my place here is for is to ignite, create and spread deep joy as far and wide as I can. I use a few different modes to do this - from art, writing, sustainability initiatives, the energy i get to capture and share when modelling .. to a simple smile or present moment. I'm writing this to you from Byron Bay :)   This world can be over stimulating especially with the invention of the internet, as we are constantly engaged with...

Inner reflection

I have been asking a lot of internal questions as of late, as well as a lot of looking at myself in the metaphorical mirror. Sitting still in the uncomfortableness that would often want to make us move in avoidance. Moving into the shadows without fear and finding light within the darkened parts of our being, the part which we all commonly share and can heal within each other if we accept one another as we are and open a space both within ourselves and to others without judgement of the analytical mind to dissect. From questioning whether I want to use social media anymore, to the ego driven world that exists within the spiritual world of “I can do...

INTERVIEW w/ ROSIE SAYERS ~ digital collage & mixed media artist

What is your name / current mood / medium used for expression   Rosie Sayers / warm and content from cuddles from my cat / hand cut and digital collage with mixed media.   Was there a moment of ‘awakening’ so to speak which changed your life dramatically? A few years ago after ending a loving 6 year relationship, I moved 3 hours from my family and friends to Melbourne city. I had to teach myself to be comfortable with my own company and feeling alone through such heartbreak. Through this journey, I found my art being the most comforting and self re assuring tool.  It brought me so much joy on a deeper level and taught me a lot about the relationship I have...

Autumn shine..

Autumn afternoons, of soft golden gentle light, subtle warmth of fading humble Sun, that draws us into a crisp dark night, inward we turn as outward we see, floating in between, somewhere, here and there life grows and falls in its cycles of beauty silent whispers  seep through my soul kissed by solace upon my lips of truth surrendered to another dusk to feel a new dawn with eyes anew reborn only to die once more       Photography by @ontheroadwithmelody

Balancing within

I believe. That one day in the coming future, I don’t mind how long it takes but of course sooner the better. That we can walk hand in hand, all of us. A lot of us are not responsible for what the generations have caused before us. Women especially over the course of herstory (history) have been treated in a way that is beyond disrespectful,  they have been shamed and violated to the point of being embarrassed and insecure for the natural rhythms of life in which they have so preciously been gifted. Us as men, will never know of this sacred cycle that women journey through every single month. But we can simply do our best to both acknowledge...

Dear Ocean, thank you.

I am sure I can speak on behalf of almost all of us as humans who have experienced the power of the big blue Ocean. And no, I am not talking about the physical power that can come from the mass of water in which she moves in waves. I am talking about the energetic power and how she makes us feel inside. It is one of those things that until you feel it yourself, you will never understand no matter how many times someone tries to explain. For me, I have been blessed to spend majority of my lifetime with the Ocean by my side and I have made a very conscious effort to never take it for...

Energy Of Art

For whatever reason it is. A lot of us are drawn to the energy of being creative. Some of us found it when we were younger, others discovered it when we were older. But we all share the common feeling of what it provides for us internally with what we express externally. Can you remember when you first began being an artist in whatever medium it is you first dabbled in? Can you feel into that freedom in which it provided your being. Like all the weight of pressure had finally lifted off of your shoulders, at least for me that is how it felt. Like a whole new world had opened up, and you wonder how it hadn’t...

Ode to the Feminine

There will come times in life when you cross paths with energies that gently awaken something deep within you that you may not even have known to exist. It’s quite fascinating, isn’t it? That there are aspects of ‘you’ that have been there this whole time, silently, patiently existing, just without recognition. The beautiful thing about this crossing of paths, is that they will awaken it within you, just as you awaken it within them. When I am with these women I feel a sense of wholeness that can only occur when the masculine and feminine have united in complete, egoless harmony. And although we each within us hold the energies of masculine and feminine, there is something so sacred...

Sunrise Flow

"There is something about the period of time just before then Sun gently rises above that crossing of line to begin a new day, that draws me back silently on an almost daily basis. Each experience is as if I am not just seeing, but feeling so deeply for the first time. I am in constant awe of how something I see so continuously that is relatively unchanged, can be so unknown and yet so different, yet still the same. It’s as if you come to know a Tree so fondly, yet her branches are ever growing, morphing, expanding. And with each season she gifts us with colours to fill our senses. During these sacred moments I feel a magnitude...

Birthing Life

This world most of the time can make perfect and clear sense, at others, it is jumbled and sense is lost within the chaos of humanity. Most of the time, it is connected, fruitful and abundant. Every now and then the flow will cease momentarily. Our paths in which we find that align us with our inner truths will be so strong and we will march to our own rhythm without worry. Along the journey something will wobble us off track and we will lose sight of where we were going, even questioning if we were on a path to begin with. And then there are moments of utter clarity, that dissolves away any of this altogether and we...

Watering your garden

How important is it, to water our gardens? This term in itself, can be perceived in many different ways. The benefits we experience when we nourish ourselves, our relationships, family and creative hobbies. And the feeling of when we don't honour ourselves and neglect to water our gardens within. These blog posts that I will begin to share with you, are me offering a part of me, to continually water the gardens of our community of change makers of both the world outside of us, and the world within us. I have come to learn in my experience and journey of myself, is that all we need, whether we know it or not, is a feeling of being connected. Whether...
